Membership & Communications Director: Lisa Hanauer
Lisa started as
Temple Sinai’s new Membership and Communications Director in December 2012 but she is already very familiar
with and connected to our congregation.
Lisa has served as a teacher at Temple Sinai Preschool for the past thirteen
years, forging relationships with hundreds of families in that time. In addition to teaching, she has been the parent
of a Preschool/Religious School/Bat Mitzvah/Midrasha student, has attended holiday
celebrations here for years, and has experienced a broad range of personal life cycle events at Temple
Sinai. She has a deep love for the
Temple and for this community and is excited to share it with others.
Lisa says, “I am
honored to have the opportunity to work with prospective and new members as
well as established members to help them find their home at Temple Sinai. There
are countless ways to be involved and enriched socially, spiritually and
intellectually at Temple Sinai. There is truly something for everyone in this
warm, vibrant, wonderfully inclusive community and I look forward to helping to
create those connections.”
Lisa lives in Oakland with
her daughter Gemma, a high school senior, and their two spaniels. As a former
chef/restaurateur/food writer, she admits to being completely food-obsessed, rarely
misses a Saturday Berkeley Farmer’s Market and is often thinking about what she
wants to cook next.
If you don’t know Lisa yet,
please be sure to introduce yourself. She would love to hear your story and discuss ways to help you get engaged in our Temple Sinai community and programs. Lisa can be reached at lisa@oaklandsinai.org and (510) 451-3263, extension 302.
