The Social Action committee initiates and supports local community projects, provides informative programs to the Temple community meant to inspire tikkun olam, and conducts advocacy around social justice issues. Major activities include the annual Freedom Seder, a Social Action Shabbat, community organizing with Oakland Community Organizations, and The People of the Book Literacy Project. We also work with the Religious School, Preschool, and Midrasha programs to develop age-appropriate Social Action activities.
We welcome new members to our dynamic Committee. It meets at Temple Sinai the second Wednesday of each month. For more information, contact one of the co-chairs, Allyce Kimerling
or Beth Wolinsky
. Come help us shape the future of Social Action at Temple Sinai.
