8th Annual Reverse Tashlich
Sunday, September 28, 2025 • 6 Tishrei 5786
12:00 PM - 3:00 PMOffsite
Love our planet? Love our bay? Please join Sinai Green in helping to clean them up in our Reverse Tashlich program
During Tashlich on Rosh HaShanah, we symbolically cast our "sins" into water. In Reverse Tashlich, we turn that ritual into action—removing human "sin" from the water by cleaning up our local waterways and beginning the year with purpose and care.By joining Reverse Tashlich, you help restore local waterways, protect marine life, and raise awareness about water pollution—turning a spiritual act into tangible environmental action and inspiring others to care for our shared planet.
Where: Location in Alameda to be disclosed upon registration
What: Bring a picnic lunch. We will have a short service led by Rabbi Bressler and a discussion of the importance of the task at hand led by Judith Silver and Sinai Green. Then we will collect as much of the trash in the area as we can, especially that which threatens our bay. We will wrap up by sharing what we found and reporting it to Repair the Sea (Tikkun HaYam), a Jewish environmental non-profit that founded the Reverse Tashlich.
This is a family-friendly and accessible event!
Registration opens soon. Please register by September 25. Location will be sent upon registration.
