Accessible Havdalah Hike
Saturday, October 16, 5:00pm, Redwood Regional Park

We’ll meet at Redwood Park and hike the paved path through the trees to get to a picnic area for a short singing service followed by snacks. The hike is fully accessible. There will be a smooth pathway provided over unpaved terrain at the picnic site.

Note that we ask all who join us to heed safe-practices guidance from the Sinai Welcome Forward Task Force:

Masks are encouraged: If you are more than two weeks beyond being fully vaccinated and comfortable not wearing a mask, that option will be open to you as long as others are comfortable.

Practice social distancing: When hiking (and potentially breathing more heavily than normal), please honor the current 6-feet guidance when walking with those not in your household. When not hiking, it’s okay to remain 3 feet away from others

No sharing of food: Please bring your own food and beverages.

Find the Redwood Gate, then follow the road to Canyon Meadow Staging Area. That’s where we park. This “hike” is more of a stroll, about 1/2-3/4 mile and back. We meet at the parking lot at the end of the road that leads in from the Redwood Gate—the one that’s on Redwood Road, east of Skyline Blvd ( NOT THE SKYLINE GATE above Montclair). Once you drive in, you pass several parking lots until the last one, though you may well have to park in one of the other lots if the last one is full. For further directions, follow this link to the map of Redwood Park. If you get there late just follow the Stream Trail; past Old Church site, there is a meadow where we gather for the service and song.

Please contact green@oaklandsinai.org if you have questions.
