As a part of our broad conversation and continuing education on Israel, Temple Sinai presents Israeli activist Shir Nostazki, speaking about her work promoting Jewish-Arab partnership in Israel’s pro-democracy movement, and about the hope she carries for a just and democratic future for all citizens there.Shir Nosatzki is co-founder and Director of Have You Seen the Horizon Lately?, an Israeli non-profit organization aimed at advancing Jewish-Arab partnership and reinforcing the legitimacy of the Arab community as a partner in the national decision-making process. Shir first rose to prominence during the 2011 social justice protests in Israel and, in 2023, became a key organizer of the mass demonstrations against the judicial overhaul. Under her leadership, Have You Seen the Horizon Lately?'s bold social media campaigns have reached millions as they work to spread a hopeful narrative of Jewish-Arab partnership and solidarity. Shir is a journalist turned activist and has been awarded the Dror Prize for Social Change, selected by The Marker newspaper as one of the most influential people on social media in Israel, and designated by Maariv newspaper as a promising young leader.
This event is co-sponsored by the New Israel Fund and J Street.

Temple Sinai is committed to creating space for thoughtful dialogue across a range of perspectives. Hosting a speaker does not imply Temple Sinai's endorsement of their views. It reflects our belief that wrestling with new or difficult ideas, together, is itself a Jewish act.
