5786 Book of Remembrance

It is customary at Temple Sinai to honor the memory of departed loved ones in the “Book of Remembrance.” This year, we are once again planning for a virtual Book of Remembrance.

In addition to the benefits of “going green,” you will have access to the Book of Remembrance on our High Holy Days website for the entire year. Names already listed on one of Temple Sinai’s perpetual memorial walls — the Tree of Life in Stern Hall, or the Wall of Remembrance in the Sanctuary — will automatically be included in the Book of Remembrance.

Follow this link to:

Complete a new request each year for the name(s) of your departed loved one(s) to be listed if their name(s) is/are not on one of our perpetual memorials.

Purchase a beautiful memorial plaque which will be placed permanently on the Wall of Remembrance in the Sanctuary. Plaques can be purchased singly or in pairs. Names will be inscribed on the memorial wall and the light next to the plaque will be illuminated at the time of yahrzeit. Names will be read at services during the yahrzheit. They will be placed in our Book of Remembrance in perpetuity.

Update the information in the portal for your yahrzeit observances.

Email Executive Director Terrie Goren or call (510) 903-5230 with any questions.

The deadline to submit names for this year is Friday, September 26, 2025.
