People of the Book/Emergency Donations to Schools
Many families in our OUSD community are hurting desperately because of job losses and school closures due to COVID-19 .  Although students (all children ages 0-18) can pick up meals for the week (15 per week) at various Food Bank locations, many parents are now without any income at all and unable to pay bills.

Besides donating to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, you can direct help specifically to our Literacy Project’s partner schools in the following ways:


Think College Now:
Click on https://www.gofundme.com/f/food-fundraiser-for-tcn-families to donate to its food fundraiser for its families (site active through June).
 

International Community School:
Click on https://www.classy.org/give/109657/#!/donation/checkout. Funds donated through this Oakland Public Education Fund website go directly to ICS .
 

Greenleaf K-8 receives desperately needed funds through Oakland Public Education Fund’s https://stimuluspledge.org/schools-partners/ website. Follow the prompts to designate Greenleaf (or ICS, or TCN), or to give a general donation. This fund gives money directly to school families and will remain active throughout the COVID crisis (100% tax deductible). Thank you!
