The Wandering Jews
Hundreds of thousands of Jews from eastern Europe uprooted their families to emigrate to the golden land, Amerike. Their wanderlust did not end on Hester Street. They penned songs of praise for so many places they'd never seen, Alabama, California, the Swanee River.

The wanderlust of Jewish lyricists expressed itself in many of the songs they wrote about the goldene medina, places that for the most part lived only in their fantasies. Come join us to sing along — or just to listen — to many classic tunes from the Great American Songbook as Temple Sinai's Tin Pan Alley Singers bring us "The Wandering Jew."

This is, kenehora, the 25th annual production in Temple Sinai's (mainly) Jewish Poets of Tin Pan Alley series. The modest funds we raise help underwrite our bringing these shows to local retirement communities.

Come sing along to (or just listen to) such standards as "California, Here I Come," "Swanee," "San Francisco," and twenty or so more. We'll project the lyrics onto a large screen; bring your glasses.

Presented by the Tin Pan Alley Singers of Temple Sinai's Fine Arts Committee on Culture and Community
