Our Program
Temple Sinai David Pregerson Preschool is a Jewish, play-based preschool in Oakland serving children ages 2-5. We believe in growing mensches – good people. We nurture loving relationships among children, family, and staff. Our respect and honor (Kavod) of each individual forms the foundation for our inclusive community (Kehillah). Jewish values are at the core of our teaching and learning. As a community, we celebrate Jewish life through stories, music, cooking, Shabbat and holiday celebrations.
Our school day program is from 9:00am-1:00pm. Extended care is available in the morning from 8:00am-9:00am and in the afternoon, our aftercare program is from 1:00-3:30pm or 1:00 – 5:15pm.
Morning Care: Children are welcomed into their classroom by a teacher in their age group. They have the opportunity to help the teacher ready the classroom for the day and do quiet activities.
School Day Program: Our school day involves inside and outside exploration, classroom projects and time for the class to come together as a community for the day and have circle time. Jewish values and best practices in early childhood are the core to our teaching and learning.
Aftercare Program: Club Shelanu provides a rest time for the children followed by play time outside. In the Aftercare program the children enjoy snack time, classroom exploration, and projects in separate age groups. During late care, children gather outside once more in a mixed-age group.
Enrichment and Special Guests: Throughout the school year we have art, music, and movement enrichment opportunities for the children, as well as special guests to enhance the children's learning.
