Seasonal Giving

One Warm Coat Drive
Temple Sinai is once again partnering with One Warm Coat to provide clean and wearable winter items to folks in need in our communities. From November 27 – December 3 we will be collecting coats, scarves, jackets, sweaters, and mittens/gloves at the Temple. There will be bins in the lobby that entire week and a van in the parking lot for items to be dropped off during Kesher on Sunday, December 3, from 9:00am – 12:00pm. We hope you join us in this important collection! This is a wonderful opportunity to clear out your drawers and closets and/or to shop Thanksgiving weekend sales for new items to donate! Questions? Call or text Lynn Simon at (510) 701-3836.

Give Back During the Holidays with our Annual Adopt a Family Program
It is easier than ever to participate in our annual Adopt a Family program with Greenleaf Elementary School this year. We will be collecting Target gift cards and NEW and UNWRAPPED books for TK-8th graders. Our temple community has had a history of bringing holiday joy to the families at Greenleaf School and we would love to show them the same love and support we have in the past. Please email for address and drop off details. The drop off deadline date is December 8.

Drive-Through Holiday Grocery Drive for Greenleaf School
Sunday, December 17, 9:30 - 11:00am
(Starts at 9:00am for Kesher families)

We will be collecting bags of healthful, non-perishable food to assist families that may run short over the winter holiday break when their children will not be receiving breakfast and lunch at school. The bags will not be repacked, so a mix of items is preferred. Please use reusable or sturdy bags. Start planning now and pick up extra tuna, peanut butter, cereal, rice, beans, pasta etc. when you shop.
We also need a couple of volunteers with vans, pickups or SUVs to load up the  morning of Sunday, December 17, keep the bags overnight and deliver to the school in East Oakland on Monday or Tuesday, December 18 or 19.

If you can help, please contact for details.
